Security Upgrades

Maybe you want to upgrade your current locks, maybe you need to upgrade your locks, for example to meet British Standard BS3621:2004 as required by some insurance companies.

Upgrading your locks

Some locks simply aren't up to the job. A few years ago there was a lot of scare mongering with regards to euro cylinder style locks which were said to be vulnerable to attack via "lock snapping" where the lock cylinder is literally snapped in two by applying force to the cylinder.

The recommended solution was to install 'Break Secure' or 'Anti Snap' cylinders, however, whilst this might prevent entry, it can also leave you with a door locked in place with no alternative but to destroy the door to enable it's removal.

If you are concerned about the integrity of your locks, we can take a look and make the relevant recommendations, indeed sometimes it's not about the locks at all, it's how they are installed, as a properly installed lock in a UPVC door should not allow an intruder to snap the lock in the first place.

Installing the latest Mortice Locks

Mortice locks have also changed significantly over the last few year, so upgrading your locks to those with these added features would offer you maximum protection against break in. These features include anti pick notches, fully boxed in keeps, anti saw deadbolts, drill resistant hard plates and stronger throws.

Not sure whether your locks are vulnerable to attack, simply give us a call and we'll come out and take a look and if required put together some options for you.
